Basic English and Employability Skills along with Career Guidance and Mentoring for 200 Students

ITI students though skilled to meet the market demand, face challenges in securing employment opportunities beyond blue-collar jobs due to the lack of employability skills and basic English language proficiency. They also don’t have anybody to mentor them on the right career path, developing a career plan, industry insights and networking opportunities.

To bridge this gap, FDP Skilling Solutions and Dheya Kaaryam Pvt Ltd together, are conducting a short course in Basic English and Employability skills along with Career Guidance and mentoring for around 200 students from Don Bosco & St Xavier’s ITI in Mumbai. The 2 months hybrid Offline and Online program was launched on 1^st April, 2023 & 3^rd April, 2023 in the respective colleges.

Dheya responsible for providing Career guidance and mentoring, oriented the students about the importance of Career Planning and the benefits to the students. The sessions were conducted by senior Dheya mentors Mr. Parag Joshi and Ms. Wendy Dsouza. The students then took psychometric assessment and are presently being mentored by senior professionals from various industries.

By integrating employability skills and career guidance into their curriculum, ITIs can help bridge the gap between education and employment and contribute to the economic growth of the country by producing skilled and job-ready graduates.
